Limited pilot - first connections being tested
  1. 1
    Open Solar Pilot (our website)

On your phone, go to solar-pilot-cherri.pages.dev

  2. 2
    Open the battery section

Tap “Connect solar without sign-in” and find Tesla Powerwall at the top.

  3. 3
    Go to Tesla's sign-in website

Tap “Check status”, then “Sign in with Tesla (Powerwall only - no car access)”. This opens Tesla's own website - you sign in there, not in Solar Pilot, and we never see your password.

  4. 4
Approve energy access on Tesla's screen

Sign in with the Tesla account that owns your Powerwall and approve sharing your energy readings. That is all it asks for - no car access and no battery control.

  5. 5
    Request pilot access

Back in Solar Pilot, tap “Check status”. You'll see that your request has been registered.

  6. 6
    Wait for approval

Cherri reviews and approves your request. There's nothing else you need to do - we'll let you know when it's on.

  7. 7
See your readings in Solar Pilot

Tap “Check status” again. If the connection works, your battery charge and live solar, home and grid power will appear.

  8. 8
Check it against the Tesla app

The first time, open the official Tesla app on your phone - the one where you already view your Powerwall - and confirm the numbers match.
